The event 'Experience seven museums' spreads on the museums at the Helsinki centrum on Wednesday evening 23 November. The multi-artistic performances create surprising encounters and interpretations in the middle of the exhibitions including improvisational theatre, poetry and live music.

Experience seven museums

The Natural History Museum has two art experiences:

Miten ihminen tulisi määritellä? – Stage poetry at the Natural History Museum in Finnish

Miten ihminen tulisi määritellä (How to define a human being?) is a stage poetry performance that takes the listener through the Natural History Museum, reflecting our place among the multitude of species. The poems collide the present and billions of years of our planet’s past, the desire of science to find answers and the way answers elude us. The poet Mikko Räty's performance introduces ancient proboscideans, flies with yellow-breasted buntings and allows an insect to answer the ultimate question: how to define a human being?

Will there be any people? – A dancing inquiry into mankind’s fate at the Natural History Museum

A work combining dance, music and projection asks whether people could face the fate of dinosaurs.

As dinosaurs died of extinction, could the same fate threaten people in some dystopian future? Experience a work that throws questions of mankind’s fate directly at and beyond a dinosaur – come and see if the museum is up to the challenge! A work by filmmaker and artist Cristian Medel. Performed by three dancers.
